From July 15th we, Jolanda and Johannes Dijkhof, will live and work in our beloved Italy.
A dream comes true, an adventure begins!
After years of dreaming, searching, and making plans, it's finally happening.
We found a beautiful 19th century farmhouse situated on the hillsides of Cortona.
Nature and culture, side by side. From our grounds you can see Villa Bramasole in the distance, Brama = passionate, Sole = sun. The famous house of the American writer Frances Mays, known from the bestseller 'Under the Tuscan sun'.
Enjoy waking up in the morning at our agriturismo, have a fresh cappuccino and then walk 3.5 km along ancient Roman paths to Cortona. Or jump on an electric rental bike and zip to the old town in just 15 minutes. Of course you can also go by car, in just 6 minutes you're already in the central car park and within 3 minutes you're in the middle of the old town.
Cortona, the city we fell for like a block. As real farmhouse residents in the Netherlands we wanted to live nearby.
The tranquillity of the hills - with wide views over the Val di Chian - and the immediate proximity of a very lively town.
The best of both worlds. Tell me, who wouldn't want this?
Within half an hour you'll be in beautiful Arezzo or Perugia. Within an hour in Siena, or Florence. While Lucca and Pisa are easily reached in just over two hours.
At only 5 kilometers from our agriturismo is the train station, from here you are within two hours in Rome and within three quarters of an hour in the heart of Florence.
Tuscany, the most beloved province of Italy, and not for nothing. Come, look, taste, stay and experience. We're going to meet you!
